  The Caring Truckers AIDS Drive charity, administered by FOCUS on Transport and Logistics magazine, was born out of a vision – to rally the support of the transport industry and take a collective stand in the fight against one of South Africa’s greatest challenges. Every day, more than 15 000 people around the world are infected with HIV/AIDS, with the greatest concentration of new infections found in sub-Saharan Africa. This is why FOCUS on Transport and Logistics magazine launched the charity five years ago, as a vehicle for the transport industry to make a positive impact in alleviating the plight of children living with HIV/AIDS The primary objective of the Caring Truckers AIDS Drive is to build homes for AIDS orphans in South Africa’s main centres. The charity has enjoyed the generous support of leading companies within the transport industry and it has certainly been heartening to see contributions steadily increasing over the years.
